Title: Administrative Assistant (211 days)Hours: 7:30 am - 4:00 pmLocation: Willowbrook Elementary Qualifications:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent required, advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of two years of experience in customer service or business related field preferred.

  • Strong aptitude for computer software, database management and overall technology concepts.

  • Ability to use and understand the district’s student information system (Infinite Campus), and the district’s employee absence reporting system (AESOP).

  • Ability to relate successfully with students, staff, families, and the community; and adhere to confidentiality in all situations.

  • Ability to maintain accurate records, filing systems, and organize varied tasks effectively while paying close attention to detail.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and to complete responsibilities as scheduled.

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.

  • Valid CPR certificate.

    Reports to: Building Principal Job Goal:This position will be responsible for the overall operation of the principal’s office. The performance responsibilities as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the building assigned. Performance Responsibilities:

  • Works well with others, maintaining positive and effective communication with all building administration, staff, students and the public.

  • Demonstrates integrity and respects confidentiality.

  • Arrives on time and works consistently until the end of his/her scheduled day.

  • Works independently and demonstrates initiative and ability to work without close supervision.

  • Demonstrates ability to grasp and adjust to new and changing situations.

  • Ability to maintain all accounts receivable and accounts payable functions for the building.

  • Provide oversight of the employee absence system (AESOP); work with staff to monitor and fill absences for all vacant positions.

  • Deposit, receipt, and maintain miscellaneous accounts, including petty cash, fundraising accounts, and purchase card transactions.

  • Answer phone, direct calls, take messages.

  • Produce correspondence at principal’s direction.

  • Able to perform duties of a nurse’s aide if necessary.

  • Maintain school supply inventory; ordering supplies and securing repairs when needed.

  • Ability to make decisions during principal’s absence from building.

  • Assist in arranging conference schedules.

  • Assist at bus times, arriving and departing.

  • Provide an appropriate role model for the students.

  • Maintain confidentiality on sensitive information.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to work with interruptions during a work shift.

  • May be required to stand occasionally throughout the day or during school events.

  • Must be capable of working with a diverse student population with different capabilities, and physical and mental limitations.

    Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of Southeast Polk CSD Board Policy. Terms of Employment:

  • 211 day position (Additional days upon Principal’s discretion)

  • Hourly wage to be determined by District Administration.
