MidAmerican Energy Company Multimedia Training Developer in Adel, Iowa

Typical Duties The multimedia training developer will participate in the design of overall organizational strategy for training and professional development programs and develop, deliver and administer those programs. Design training for internal audiences using appropriate adult learning principles, delivery methods and project management methodology, according to desired performance outcomes and learner needs. Create online and multimedia learning experiences on a variety of topics including professional skills, leadership, technology, processes and business competencies. Deliver training products for a variety of levels of employees and leaders such as individual contributors, supervisors, managers, directors and vice presidents. Design and develop effective training utilizing various technology-based techniques and tools, such as apps, graphics, animations, video, audio, podcasts, online collaboration sites, social media and webinars. Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content for delivery across multiple platforms (in person, virtual and digital). Adhere to style guidelines and design standards that provide a consistent framework for the development of training materials. Remain current with technical knowledge of online and distance learning vendors, applications and best practices. Partner with third-party software vendors to incorporate and/or customize their materials where appropriate. Work in a team setting to assess needs and ways to implement a blended learning environment and to design, develop and implement company-wide and business specific curriculums. Evaluate the results of learning, determine effectiveness and implement appropriate alternatives. Work with business leaders on strategies for continuous improvement and future use of development resources. Administer learning management system records and other repositories/systems related to accessibility and maintenance of training materials. Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. Bachelor's degree in organization development, organizational behavior, human resources, industrial/organizational psychology, business or related field or equivalent work experience. (Typically, six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree). Five years of experience in experience in training and development, specifically designing and developing online training products. Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD, Formerly CPLP) or Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD) is a plus. Experience using relevant tools for content delivery and visual design/development including learning management systems; content authoring tools; photo, video and audio editing tools; general business tools including MS Word, PowerPoint; and Teams collaboration suite. Skills in Adobe Creative Suite preferred. Demonstrated ability to design and develop high-quality, multimodal instructional content from start to finish, including training guides, multimedia content, podcasts, instructional videos, web-based materials, etc. Demonstrated instructional design skills and knowledge of adult learning principles including ADDIE/Agile methodologies. Excellent oral and written communication skills; presentation/facilitation skills preferred. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail.
