Bolton and Menk has a great opportunity for aiConstruction Project Representativeito join our team in Algona, IA!As a member of our Construction Services Group team you will provide oversight of the construction activities to assure their compliance with the project plans and specifications, prepare daily observation reports, and assist in preparing the proper project documentation. Our RPR's enjoy building a team atmosphere with the construction contractor to deliver an exceptional product for the client and community. As you continue to grow there are opportunities to specialize in various types of construction such as bridges, highways, downtown reconstructs, or serve as a community's go-to Construction Project Representative.Candidates must possess a high capacity for self-motivation and be able to apply technical knowledge to a variety of projects. In addition, must be able to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and staff from various agencies. This position requires a valid Drivers License and your own means of reliable transportation. You must also have the ability to travel to on-site inspections, be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds while walking through rough terrain and have good verbal communication skills. Design experience or training with AutoDesk software for GIS experience is a plus, but not required.Depending on experience and interest, positions may be full-time or seasonal with layoff during non-construction months.RequirementsAssociate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, or related field, from an accredited post-secondary institutioniORi3+ years of related construction experienceTechnical Certification for Federal Aid Inspection as per state requirements or ability to obtain within one (1) year of employmentMust possess a valid drivers license and their own transportationMust have the ability to actively listen to others for understanding of their needs and situations; ability to read, speak and write English clearly is requiredIowa DOT Certifications a plus, but not requirediWHY BOLTON and MENK?For over 70 years Bolton and Menk, Inc. has served public and private clients with comprehensive planning, design and construction engineering and surveying services.
