Night Shift Feed Delivery DriverRequisition #2022-24452Job LocationsUS-IA-ALGONACategoryTransportationTypeFull-TimeFLSA StatusHourlyShift2nd ShiftJob LocationsUS-IA-ALGONAYour OpportunityThe Feed Delivery Driver safely operates feed truck with capacity of more than thirty (30) tons transporting materials to and from specified feed mill and farm destinations, possibly including tandem trailers.Core ResponsibilitiesSuccessfully complete a Road Test and be issued a certificateProperly Pre-Trip and Post-Trip inspect the equipmentWork in single driver environment Handle shipping documents to ensure accuracy and timely submissionPosition equipment properly to safely offload feed into feed binsDrive day/night in variety of climates and trafficUse on-board computerMaintain logs, DVIR, itinerary, and other paperwork as requiredFuel equipment and extract on-board computer (or turns in logs) dailyPre-load trailer for next shift.Handle shipping documents to insure accuracy and timely submissionUse Farm Directions Book, maps or GPS to avoid getting lost or going out-of-routeBe able to converse with our business associated to resolve problems in a civil mannerBe able to calculate simple mathematical problems dealing with feed deliveryComply with all Bio-Security (BMS) and Environmental (EMS) management system's rules and regulationsComply with DOT rules and regulationsComply with all Smithfield established policies and proceduresThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.Meet DOT requirementsAt least 21 years of ageNo DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions in last 10 yearsNo DOT Recordable preventable accidents within the last three (3) years with a CMVNo more than one (1) moving violation within the last three (3) yearsMeet minimum requirements to operate a CMV and have a current valid CDL issued from only one State Knowledgeable of FMCSR1-year CDL experience desired or completion of 3rd Party Training Must be able to pass a DOT Physical upon initial hireFeed delivery experience preferredComplete all required information on the CDL Driver Application For Employment Be able to read and speak the English languageBe able to understand highway traffic signs and signalsBe able to respond to official inquiries and make entries on reports and recordsAbility to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.Work Environment and Physical DemandsThe work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
