Job Title: Stand-Up Forklift Operator

Job Description

Operate a stand-up forklift to load and unload trucks on the docks. Use an RF scanner to scan products in and out of the warehouse. Count and track inventory through invoicing. Handwriting must be legible and forms must be filled out correctly. This role involves detailed work using scanners and paper invoices to manage inbound and outbound products. You will fill out inspection sheets for trucks leaving the docks, ensuring the correct amounts. Must be comfortable working in temperatures from 38 degrees or colder and lifting 60-70 lbs. Assist in various warehouse tasks including stacking, packaging, scanning, and cleaning in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a stand-up forklift to load and unload trucks.

• Use an RF scanner to manage inventory and barcode products.

• Count and track inventory through accurate invoicing.

• Fill out inspection sheets for trucks, ensuring correct amounts.

• Assist with stacking, packaging, scanning, and cleaning.

• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with 80 trucks daily.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of forklift experience.

• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

• 1+ years of math skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous cold storage experience preferred.

Work Environment

Cold storage facility with temperatures ranging from 38 degrees to negative 10 degrees. The facility is new and very clean, ensuring food safety standards. Shifts include a 9:30 am start time with training on 10-hour shifts, 4 days a week for 3 weeks, then moving to 5 8-hour shifts on Monday through Friday. Additionally, there is a 2nd shift from 3:30 pm to midnight. Must be open to working weekends and Saturdays. Employees need to provide their own cold weather gear and steel-toed boots initially. A freezer coat will be provided after one week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of ALTOONA, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
