Function Overview

Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for an Associate Engineer Quaility . The successful candidate will be accountable for the quality and performance for a refrigerator assembly line at the Amana Facility. This value stream includes supplier, metal forming, thermo-forming, chemical foaming processed and assembly lines supporting the multi-door bottom mount, 2door and built-in refrigerator platforms and 7 brands. The successful candidate will be accountable to develop Kaizens, QA matrixes as part of the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) tools and mythologies.

Job Description

  • Develop, coordinate and maintain the Quality KPI’s for the assigned production area to ensure zero quality claims for the customer and next process on the supply chain

  • Coordinate containment, Process problem-solving and Product Audits, Actions Plans, Quick Kaizen, A3, 8D and Major Kaizen to ensure zero quality claims for the customer and next process on the supply chain

  • Establish a Visual Factory Processes to show in real time Process and Product Capability performance to encourage improvements

  • Participate in the development of Control Plans and approved it

  • Provide engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques

  • Determine when process stability and capability studies should be performed on existing processes. Review and analyze results. Recommend changes to processes based upon findings and perform follow up to verify the effectiveness

  • Participate in the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and approved it

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline

  • 1 + year of manufacturing experience

Preferred Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in an Engineering discipline

  • Good Communication Skills and teamwork

  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills with the ability to work in a team environment

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Leadership skills and autonomy

  • The desire to learn and grow

  • Thorough understanding of World Class Manufacturing tools/methods specifically Professional Maintenance, Autonomous Maintenance, and Focused Improvement
