This Role in Summary

Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Human Resources Operations Senior Specialist, role for our Amana, Iowa manufacturing facility. This role provides local HR Operations support, reporting to the Senior Manager of Human Resources Operations for US Manufacturing and Distribution Centers. The incumbent will have an indirect reporting relationship with the Amana site HR Business Partner sharing ideas, ownership, and accountability for driving improvements and consistency of execution for key HR processes.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Manage local HR activities

  • Provide guidance and coaching on local policies and practices

  • Serve as liaison for site’s union leadership

  • Manage employment system data

  • Support employees and people leaders with inquiries, concerns and workplace investigations

  • Lead and participate in HR Operations projects by providing feedback, insights, and continuous improvement ideas

  • Execute and administer various responsibilities associated with turnover and absenteeism data collection and analysis

  • Complete new hire onboarding activities including I-9 verifications

  • Support and oversee administration and execution of annual HR processes including but not limited to annual enrollment, engagement surveys and wage planning and adjustment

  • Flex time on occasion to support all shifts of operation

  • Travel up to 5% for meetings and events

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree

  • 1+ year(s) of Human Resources experience

Preferred Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Knowledge and exposure to Lean Manufacturing Systems, such as World Class Manufacturing

  • Speaking and/or writing proficiency in French or Swahili is desired, but not required

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills regularly to identify issues and trends while developing solutions and/or recommendations to address root cause

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and/or Google Suite
