Are you an experienced communications professional who wants to be inspired daily and surrounded by some of the most creative students, faculty, and staff in the nation? The Student Innovation Center is seeking qualified candidates for a Communications Specialist IV.
The Communications Specialist IV will be an integral member of the newly established Student Innovation Center team. The position will have the opportunity to build a communications and media program for the Student Innovation Center from the ground up. The person in this role will be in charge of communications and media production for the Student Innovation Center, including: generating promotional/marketing content, managing social media presence, coordinating media relations, coordinating Student Innovation Center events, managing the Media Production Suite, supporting digital media content creation and distribution, developing training and workshops, and managing student support personnel.
The Student Innovation Center, opening in January 2020, will be the nexus on campus that inspires students, faculty and staff to innovate through experimentation, interdisciplinary collaboration and the free exchange of ideas in an inclusive environment. The center is a resource serving the entire university community with unique facilities and workspaces to foster innovation across all aspects of Iowa State’s land-grant mission. It will provide a welcoming and vibrant environment where all university stakeholders can find resources to foster new ideas, creativity, experimentation, evaluation and entrepreneurship; especially at the intersection of traditional disciplines.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, have excellent project management abilities, and have experience working in diverse and vibrant environments. All staff members are expected to interact collegially and maintain the highest standards of integrity and ethical behavior.
