Estimator- Full Time

Position: Full-time in Ames, Iowa, with occasional travel throughout the US.

Education: Experience or Experience and Education combined in the Construction or related field, with the willingness to continue professional growth through training and educational opportunities.

Salary: Based on experience and proven skills

PMI Iowa in Ames is hiring an Experienced or Entry-Level Project Estimator for PMI Lift. The individual will be responsible for preparing bids and proposals, and estimating projects in the agri-business industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop project estimates and proposals as dictated by customer inquiries.

  • Develop, maintain and/or modify PMI’s Timberline estimating database, as required.

  • Import all estimates and job information to accounting. Complete all job file information, such as customer contact information, billing/invoicing and retainage information.

  • Communicate effectively with staff and customers regarding all aspects of projects under development.

  • Review all contracts, subcontracts and execute accordingly.

  • Actively participate in meetings with willingness to share and accept ideas.

  • Travel to proposed project sites, as needed, to represent PMI. Gather information, such as dimensions, take pictures and assess pertinent site conditions.

  • Qualify subcontractors and vendors, execute/process all RFQs, POs, subcontracts and lien waivers, as necessary.

  • Acquire licensing and permits, as necessary.

  • Document all communications/correspondence with clients, suppliers and other business partners.

  • Network with other trade professionals to develop mutually-beneficial business relationships.

  • Entry level skills is considered for this opportunity but not required
