The Iowa Department of Transportation, Local Systems Bureau, is seeking qualified applicants for an Intern position. The Local Systems Bureau is the liaison bureau to cities and counties for state and federal transportation programs. Summary of Job Duties:

  • Assist with a variety of Federal-aid, Federal-aid Swap, and State-aid transportation programs

  • Assist with the development, modification, and implementation of policies for LPA’s

  • Assist with Project Field Reviews for LPAs

  • Preparation for Meetings, including developing Power Point Presentations, Excel forms, etc.

  • Assist with data requests from citizens, media, attorneys, city/county/state engineers, etc.

Travel: Occasional travel

Shift: Days, Monday -Friday. Flex-time and some teleworking allowed with Supervisor approval.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Completion of at least?two years?in civil, construction, materials, or transportation engineering, or in an engineering management curriculum at an accredited?four-year college or university with eligibility for junior status upon return to school.
