Title: Part-Time Student-Crop Care Reliability Engineering-Ames IA-90324

Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position

This position is located onsite a t the John Deere Technology Innovation Center (JDTIC) on the campus of Iowa State University (ISU) in Ames, Iowa.

The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Companys regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.

Your Responsibilities

Reliability Engineering is responsible to determine the likelihood that a product will perform its intended function over an extended duration under encountered use conditions. We work hand in hand with product verification and validation teams as a member of product research and development teams.

  • Provide accelerated life test targets for comparative lab studies

  • Perform reliability growth analysis calculations

  • Review field test events and ensure product design team alignment

  • Learn tools for risk identification and mitigation processes within the Product Development Process (PDP)

What Skills You Need

  • Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Systems Engineering; others may apply

  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local university

  • Graduation date of Fall 2023 or later

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above

  • Available to work 12-16 hours/week during the academic year

  • Available to work 35-40 hours/week during the summer semester

  • Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis in Ames, Iowa when requested year-round

  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word

    NOTE: For Iowa State University students, this assignment will qualify for ISU course credit as a co-op/internship position working 20 hours per week.
