We invite applications for a postdoctoral research associate position in theoretical condensed matter physics at Iowa State University and Ames National Laboratory. The position is anticipated to begin in the spring or fall of 2025. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Prof. Chandan Setty and is expected to collaborate closely with experimental groups at Ames National Laboratory. We welcome applicants with expertise in any area of condensed matter theory, including but not limited to unconventional superconductivity, topological matter, strongly correlated systems, magnetism and their intersections. Required Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in condensed matter theory or related field must be completed prior to start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong background in quantum many-body theory, group theory description of solids, experience in numerical simulations (DMFT, QMC, Exact Diagonalization, Mean Field and other variational approaches, etc.), diagrammatic and other field theoretic approaches.

  • Interest and experience in working in a collaborative environment that involves partnering with experimentalists.

  • Proven track record of research excellence.
