Proven leadership in supervision and personnel management, including staff development, performance reviews, accountability, and improving communication.
Experience managing regulatory compliance with university, federal, state, and local regulations.
Strong emphasis on safety regulations for mechanical and electrical work, building codes, and environmental system rules.
Demonstrated ability to drive engagement, empower cross-functional teams, and implement continuous process improvements to provide excellent customer service.
Experience metrics and reporting to ensure service work meets customer needs and gets completed on schedule and within budget.

The Facilities Planning and Management (FPM) Department seeks an innovative, customer-focused leader to provide management and direction to ensure our buildings, grounds, and facilities function efficiently and look their best, while meeting and exceeding our customers’ needs and university standards. This pivotal role involves managing the daily operations of a large, cross-functional services team maintaining a variety of facilities and requires a strategic approach to budgeting, assigning and prioritizing work, scheduling staff, and establishing quality standards.
As a Senior Manager of Facilities Maintenance – in partnership with three other Senior Managers – you will unite, plan, organize, and empower facilities services teams for FPM. You will work closely with the FPM Leadership Team, receiving guidance and collaborating to consistently meet the goals of the department, division, and university, while ensuring outstanding customer service. You will lead services related to maintaining buildings, grounds, and facilities in a consistently high state of good repair for customers and employees. You will create cohesive processes and procedures; maintain positive customer and employee relations; manage vendors, contractors, and service providers; and implement performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Direction: Serve as the primary leader for facilities maintenance, guiding teams through the complexities of maintaining and improving buildings, grounds, and facilities. Ensure comprehensive oversight and accountability for all maintenance and upkeep activities, including staff, external contractors, and stakeholders.
Team Management: Lead and manage facilities maintenance teams including maintenance, groundskeeping, custodial, trades, and building systems staff.
Team Integration: Blend a variety of technical and functional roles into a cohesive, unified team. Your leadership will ensure that all team members are aligned and working towards the common goal of maintaining exceptional facilities.
Quality Service Delivery: Ensuring the highest quality of service to our campus customers by overseeing all aspects of facilities maintenance. Your commitment to excellence will be evident in every task and project you manage.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with various stakeholders including FPM leadership, faculty, staff, and external partners to ensure maintenance activities meet the needs and expectations of the university community.
Innovation and Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities for innovation and improvement in maintenance processes and outcomes. Your forward-thinking approach will help us stay ahead in the ever-evolving field of facilities management. Participates in short and long-term strategic planning.
