Job Description:


Iowa State University Human Resources has a great opportunity in Talent Acquisition and is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist who will play a critical role in the hiring of all staff positions across the university. This position will provide direct recruiting support for managers in delivering recruiting services using a working knowledge of all applicable policies, procedures, and best practices. The position is responsible for working with hiring managers as part of the HR Delivery Team to develop viable recruiting strategies, manage requisitions, source and attract candidates, assist with hiring decisions, and facilitate the hiring process in conjunction with the HR service team for assigned area(s). Additionally, the position will maintain a thorough understanding of jobs and associated requirements across the university. The responsibilities of this position require close collaboration and teamwork with faculty, staff, departments and programs.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively with these and other diverse groups of individuals across campus. In doing so, the SRS fields questions on recruiting related practices and strategies, escalating to the appropriate Senior HR Partner as needed. Moreover, the SRS provides Workday system expertise and process support; leveraging system in order to complete all necessary business processes. Example of Duties• Provides frontline recruiting guidance and customer service support for relevant units as it relates to creating and managing requisitions, managing candidate pools, reviewing candidates to evaluate qualifications against position requirements, sourcing passive candidates, ensuring a quality candidate experience, and facilitating the hiring process.• Partners with hiring managers and interview teams to ensure understanding of the role, responsibilities and requirements and provides expertise on applicable recruiting strategies.• Develops recruitment goals and objectives in partnership with hiring managers, HR Delivery and Assistant Director Talent Acquisition. Monitors performance measures such as time to fill, customer feedback, etc.• Collaborates with University Human Resources Talent Acquisition team to implement University advertising, marketing, and branding strategies.• Proactively and effectively communicates with HR Delivery regarding trends, developments and changes related to recruiting within relevant units.• Builds talent networks internally and externally to the university to find qualified active and passive candidates.• Maintains working knowledge of all applicable HR policies and procedures.Level Guidelines• Intermediate-level position with solid professional and/or technical skills working under general supervision to achieve goals.• Applies broad, working knowledge of the principles of the field to moderately complex, difficult, and varied problems and issues.• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action and resolve problems.• Responds to a broad range of inquiries and requests.• May provide training and/or direction to lower-level staff.• May lead projects of moderate scope and complexity.• Provides guidance to students.
