Vehicle Test Engineer Requisition ID: 24627 Job Location(s): Ames, IA, US Job DescriptionDanfoss Power Solutions is seeking a skilled Test Engineer for its Solutions Engineering team in Ames, Iowa.Job ResponsibilitiesDrive vehicle testing projects from start to finishInstrument off-highway vehicles with sensors, transducers, and other measuring equipment for field testingSelect and configure data acquisition hardware to achieve vehicle testing goalsConfigure data acquisition software depending on testing needsCreate and modify data analysis scripts to automate data reduction and prepare it for use in reportsAnalyze test data and report results to a variety of stakeholdersCommunicate testing goals and results to engineering, marketing, and other stakeholdersCoordinate DAQ fitment and field testing activities with system engineers and engineering techniciansEstablish and maintain strong links to other Danfoss Power Solutions testing groups locally and globallyKeep safety as a center focus through all phases of vehicle testingCoordinate with ADC personnel on test track usageDevelop state of the art methods and procedures for off-highway vehicle testingAble to operate a variety of off-highway vehiclesMaintaining measurement equipment and vehicles under team controlExecuting vehicle start-ups and trouble shooting at Danfoss facilities and pilot customer facilitiesRendering "subjective judgment" of the drive behavior of a variety of construction, agriculture, and other off-road vehiclesDiscussing vehicle functions and objectives with internal and external customersPresentation of vehicles and systems at visitors and customersBackground and SkillsEngineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Agricultural Engineering (prefer BS, MS, or PhD)Strong, demonstrated technical background and work experience2+ years in testing for fluid power industry, off-highway industry, automotive industry, or aero-spaceStrong hands-on and practical experiencePlus+, Dewesoft, FAMOS, MATLAB, SOMAT, experience a plusWhat we offer:An interesting and challenging job within an innovative research and development team environmentContinuous learning and new challenges where you will be able to develop your skills and competenciesThe chance to be an important part of a highly skilled systems development teamDanfoss - Engineering TomorrowAt Danfoss, we are engineering solutions that allow the world to use resources in smarter ways - driving the sustainable transformation of tomorrow.
