Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for reconditioning heat exchange plates. This involves removing old rubber gaskets, power washing the plates, testing them for cracks or holes, washing and drying, gluing new gaskets, transferring them into an oven, and packaging them for shipment.

Responsibilities

• Recondition heat exchange plates

• Remove old rubber gaskets by hand or using liquid nitrogen

• Power wash plates to clean them

• Test plates for cracks or holes using a special spray and black light

• Wash and dry plates after testing

• Glue new gaskets onto plates

• Transfer plates into an oven to adhere gaskets to metal

• Cool plates and prepare them for shipment

Essential Skills

• 1 year of manufacturing or production experience

• Attention to detail

• Ability to work in a team

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Self-motivated

• General labor experience

• Packing and production experience

• Material handling

• Experience using hand tools

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing environment with a very open warehouse. The team is laid-back, focusing on meeting production output without excessive pressure. The warehouse is not climate-controlled. This is a 1st shift opportunity, running from 7am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday work. The dress code requires steel-toed boots and jeans; safety glasses and gloves will be provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ankeny, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50
