Job Purpose and Impact
The Quality Assurance Analyst will establish quality standards for products and processes and provide specialized knowledge of specific segments of quality systems or plant processes such as food safety and quality auditing, instrumentation, specific product line knowledge, computer systems, management or oversight of suppliers and other needed focus areas. In this role, you will be involved in preparation and participation of customer audits, and you will work together with internal and external teams, including production, to mitigate quality and food safety risks and address customer requirements and concerns. At this level, work is performed under general supervision and the role is expected to independently solve moderately complex issues while referring more complex problems to a higher-level staff.
Audit production processes, raw materials or suppliers and vendors to ensure that established quality standards are met to ensure compliance with FDA requirements.
Work closely with cross functional teams, including product management and production, to identify and mitigate quality risks.
Conduct root cause analysis for defects, nonconformities or other quality failures and ensures compliance with internal quality and food safety standards and document control
Ensure compliance with formal external and internal quality standards and review quality data to verify completion and accuracy
Provide training, coaching and management of specific segments of quality management systems and provide continuous improvement support for operations or other functional areas where needed.
Investigate and responds to customer complaints and provide guidance.
Lead the nonconforming materials program for the plant and other plant specific activities and develop Near Infrared (NIR) Test Methods for Raw Materials, Finished Product and R&D materials
Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of two years of related work experience
One year of solid working knowledge of quality assurance and/or food safety concepts
Experience with NIR methodology for material identity and quantitation.
Intermediate mathematical and analytical skills
Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint skills
