Time Management/Study Skills Coach
Students struggling in schools are often deficient in content mastery, but without proper time management and study skills, many students continue to do poorly in classes as they may be turning in assignments late, not giving oneself enough prep time for an assessment or not having enough skills to organize their classes to devote enough time for efficient preparation.
Responsibilities: * Monitors progress of students in with check-ins, scheduled meetings or proactive outreach and communication, responding to students questions, concerns and needs * Conducts academic coaching through individual sessions that help students assess their own performance and develop academic success plans * Assists students in developing self-efficacy by identifying and overcoming obstacles that may be impeding academic success * works with students to teach and put into practice strong time management and organization skills * Helps students in identifying, developing and implementing learning strategies and study skills specific to course materials * motivates students to practice self-regulation and take ownership of their academic success * assists students in reviewing, completing and submitting online assignments
Qualifications: * Knowledge of coaching, instructional and mentoring techniques * Candidates must have strong analytical and problem solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication * Ability to balance multiple demands and effectively organize and manage time and tasks for different student needs * Knowledge of different learning styles and how to coach students to use their learning style to their advantage * thorough understanding of online instructional platforms * BA or BS degree and minimum of 1 year teaching or tutoring experience
