Senior Analytics EngineerJob ID #:IRC14184Location:Cedar Falls, IA Functional Area: Analytics.Position Type: Full Time Regular Business Unit: Social Position Description The Senior Analytics Engineer is responsible for performing data analysis for social and mobile applications including requirements gathering, code instrumentation, creating and analyzing reports, and providing insights to optimize high volume web and native mobile applications. This position is also responsible for weekly deliverables, which is an opportunity to present analysis on test results and recommended areas of focus to management. The Senior Analytics Engineer also acts as a mentor to junior team members.Essential Job Functions:* Lead the design and use of custom analytics reports and efficient HQL/SQL queries* Analyze query results using Excel or other statistical tools* Create weekly presentations to report status of Social/Mobile games to management* Lead A/B testing process and status reporting* Identify areas of opportunity from analysis and brainstorm creative solutions with team* Coordinate with other team members to provide recommendations for changes and improvements to increase player retention and monetization* Create ad hoc reports* Mentor junior team members Position Requirements QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Math, Statistics or relevant areaRequired Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in analytics, statistics or engineeringKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:* Advanced SQL/HQL/MySQL* Understanding of relational databases* Experience mentoring team members* Excel* Other statistical analysis tools a plus (e.g. Minitab, SAS, R, etc.)* Presenting analysis in a group setting* Clear and effective communication of complex ideas and analysis* Ability to work with little direction, self-directed* General understanding of programming concepts and methodology a plus* Agile/Scrum software development experience is a plus* Critical thinking and creative problem solvingWork Conditions: May require weekend and/or evening hours and travelSG is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate against applicants due to race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, veteran status, or on the basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
