Principal Financial Group Assistant Director - Product Management - Remote in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Principal is looking for a Assistant Director - Product Management. In this role, you'll create and maintain a profitable and marketable product portfolio which supports advice initiatives within the US Retirement business. As well as, lead, develop, and manage product offer strategies to meet broader RIS objectives.
Here are additional examples of the types of things you'll do:
Lead the effort to develop and implement new products and modify existing products to meet strategic imperatives for Individual Solutions and across business unit. Work with sales, IT, compliance, legal, marketing, other groupss to accomplish objectives and ensure alignment with current/future capabilities, communications, and decision making.
Manage in-plan advice releases by monitoring and reporting on key profitability measures, trends, marketability, service, and sales. Recommend and implement adjustments to senior leadership as required.
Monitor product performance, competitive intelligence, market trends and economic factors to drive the establishment of competitive product to deliver profitable growth in defined market segments.
Act as a Supplier Manager to manage and negotiate vendor partnerships and alliances with external partners, as appropriate.
Mentor and coach delivery staff, develop and share best practices that contribute to organizational learning. Build and sustain relationships through motivation, and team building. Take action to orchestrate change and improvements, including the use of change management concepts and manage the cultural and people impact of change.
Provide training and education internally to various business partners regarding products, market trends, and competitor offerings.

We are looking for someone with:
Bachelor's degree required
8+years of experience with a comprehensive retirement product mindset for individuals
Extensive knowledge of product research, product development and design, investment products including in-plan managed accounts and retail investor accounts, including marketing across the spectrum of U.S. Retirement
Superior problem solving and analytical abilities, decision-making capabilities and direct people management are necessary
Ability to travel up to 10-25% of the time
Excellent project management, planning, oral/written communication skills, and presentation skills
Strong relationship building with other employees, work groups, and senior leaders to persuade, negotiate, or gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas
Successful candidate will have the following:
ChFC, CFP®, preferred
FINRA registration may be required
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
$116000 - $162000 / year
