Raytheon Technologies Associate Director, Global Business Development, Defense Sustainment in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Defense Sustainment is seeking an Associate Director, Global Business Development to work with our customers and across Collins Aerospace to develop long term sustainment strategies, identify growth opportunities, and fill our pipeline to deliver orders to our Strategic Business Units (SBUs). This position is for a lead professional in Business Development with expert level experience.

This position can be worked remotely from anywhere within the domestic U.S.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leading global team of experienced Business Development professionals to build the orders pipeline to support the Strategic Business Units across Collins Aerospace

  • Collaborating in generation of strategy for pipeline/opportunity growth in the Defense Sustainment market

  • Identifying new market and adjacent market leads and opportunities for further development/progression

  • Understanding and developing growth strategies to identify new opportunities and drive growth in these key business areas

  • Leveraging understanding of international and domestic customer procurement procedures and requirements, including US DoD FAR Part 12 and Part 15 procurements.

  • Support and execute SBU key product sustainment/service win strategies and lead effort to achieve successful contract award

  • Collaborate with SBU Aftermarket & Proposal Management in developing business cases for prospective opportunities resulting in offering competitive proposals

  • Utilize and manage the required internal tool sets to track the pipeline of opportunities for the business and ensure the necessary organizational objectives are met.

  • Lead initiatives that to close multi-SBU Defense Sustainment business capture, through collaboration along platform and customer lines.

  • Influence executive leadership in the development of activities for strategic prospects in support of business strategy.

  • Attend and present at trade shows at times to increase visibility of the organization.

  • Design sustainment strategies, policies, and programs for company products and services.

  • Develop customer solutions that result in outcomes that are in the best interest of customers and Collins Aerospace, including protection of Collins’ intellectual property.

  • Prospect, develop, and expand business, responds to requests from customers and develop presentations to customers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience is Required

  • Must be willing to travel up to 25%

  • Must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with aerospace or defense industry customers and markets

  • Collins Management System experience
