BAE Systems Business Development Manager II, Ground PNT Mounted/Dismounted in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
BAE Systems, a provider of some of the world's most advanced, technology-led defense, aerospace and security systems, is seeking a highly motivated experienced Business Development Manager to join our team.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and qualifying new business in support of current and future opportunities related to Military GPS and Anti-Jam capabilities to include, Assured Positioning, Navigation and Timing (APNT) efforts in the Ground PNT Mounted and Dismounted markets. The selected individual will be responsible for leading customer engagement with assigned customers, qualifying pursuits in accordance with business success criteria, filling a robust pipeline of opportunities, and driving sales to completion. This role simultaneously oversees all aspects of several near and long-term opportunity developments and will also contribute to the prioritization of new business pursuits, and the development of marketing plans, capture strategies and customer value proposition.
The right candidate will have the experience and background to be an immediate impact player. The candidate must have a strong understanding and customer affinity to interface regularly with Service, platform primes, and mission system integrators, and will be familiar with DoD requirements and acquisition processes. She/he should have a strong Military GPS, Anti-Jam and APNT background and will need to bring, develop and maintain strong business relationships with key decision makers within these organizations as well as inside industry. The BD Manager will develop and maintain close, trusted partner relationships with offices of senior military and civilian US Government customers, current and prospective customers, as well as industry partners and suppliers related to Military GPS, Anti Jam and other APNT efforts.
The ideal candidate will have a firm understanding of all the assigned program offices along with mission solution requirements and challenges. The candidate will:
Identify and qualify a robust pipeline of focused opportunities that align Business Area objectives.
Possess an intimate knowledge of DoD and the services Military GPS, Anti-Jam and APNT requirements and CONOPS specifically related to Ground Mounted and Dismouted market strategies and acquisition approaches.
Maximize and create market opportunities by building strong customer relationships. This will include holistic Customer mapping and communication plans with current and new customer offices, and also leveraging existing knowledge and relationships maintained across the ES business.
Develop customer value propositions based upon target customer and platform needs to mature internal strategies.
Educate customer on emerging mission survivability systems, NAVWAR threats and capabilities; the value these capabilities provide to close their mission gaps.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Active DoD Secret clearance (Required status to be active at time of application)
Experience in DoD acquisition Policy and Execution
Strong understanding of the Military GPS, Anti-jam and APNT Enterprise to include NAVWAR Threats
Strong understanding of DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution
Understanding, insight and influence at: DoD customer community and platform primes
Ability to create and maintain customer relationships with Senior Government officials: Officer and Civilian Leadership, Colonel (O-6)
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Active Top Secret Security Clearance
Requirements Development experience
MS or Marketing degree (or equivalent)
Tactical Operations implementation and detailed CONOPS understanding
Strong customer relationship building
