Job Description SummaryThe Director of Organizational Learning and Development is responsible for establishing and building the Transamerica Learning and Development strategy which includes career development, consulting and learning delivery, management and leadership development, and talent technology, metrics and operations. Under your leadership, the Organizational Learning and Development team will build a reputation for enabling employees to maximize their potential through career development offerings and tools (e.g. learning, leadership development), aligning talent capabilities with emerging business needs, and leveraging technology solutions to dynamically serve the needs of a highly distributed workforce. This role will report to the Senior Director of Talent Management.Job Description
Develop an internal learning and development consulting framework and capability; design and maintain solutions for defined offerings.
Oversee the maintenance, curation, updating and delivery Transamerica’s learning curriculum.
Define critical certifications for team to ensure ability to deliver solutions.
Enhance and grow our manager curriculum to increase manager effectiveness.
Design, implement and oversee programs for leadership and high potential development.
Work closely with global partners to ensure alignment across all responsibility areas.
Design and implement a career development philosophy and framework.
Develop and execute an upskilling strategy and support redeployment efforts.
Develop model to assess organizational and functional capabilities; build solutions to address closing gaps between current and future state.
Assess new technologies for Learning and Talent (e.g. Talent Marketplace/Agile models).
Design, monitor and manage learning project and process metrics that are aligned to business strategy.
Oversee instructional design, learning technology capabilities and the LMS.
Build and cultivate the professional growth of the team.
Plan, manage, and forecast departmental budgets.
Ten years of experience in learning, management and leadership development, and organizational development and consulting
Five years of experience building and leading teams
Developer of Talent professionals with emphasis on the importance of strong business acumen
Innovator with a sense of urgency thriving a in fast-paced environment characterized by high-levels of change and transformation
Well versed in present day learning methodologies and talent technologies and the unique challenges of leading an enterprise COE serving many business channels with a distributed workforce
Extensive experience working and partnering with cross-functional business leaders in all disciplines and delivering against business goals
Experience building learning and talent programs for the development and retention of critical positions and high-demand talent
Relationship builder, collaborator and integrator focused on learner experience and client service
Creative problem-solver focused on opportunity and growth
Skilled at developing and managing relationships with external vendor partners for training support
- Financial services/insurance industry experience
Office or hybrid office/remote environment
Moderate travel (up to 25%)
