The RTX People Services organization is seeking an Employee Bereavement Specialist. The successful candidate possesses a high degree of empathy, compassion, patience and attention to detail. The Employee Bereavement Specialist will partner with Human Resources across RTX to deliver death benefit processes. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our employees and their families.
What You Will Do
Administer RTX in-service employee death benefit process
Serve as the point of contact to the beneficiary and surviving family member(s)
Coordinate the process for across RTX teams including HR, People Services and external vendors
Oversee process and activities to ensure deliverables are completed and service levels are met
Meet with team members to administer process and resolve issues
Establish feedback cadence to key stakeholders
Escalate issues and process delays, as necessary
Ensure tasks are done accurately and on time
Continual process improvement to enhance and streamline process
Enhance standard work to provide playbook on employee death benefit process
Other People Services projects and duties, as assigned
Approximately 5% travel domestically (as required)
Qualifications You Must Have
Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or An Advance Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
4+ years of experience with benefit operations and / or HR generalist
2+ years of previous experience working with vendors
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Experience with high touch customer service-related processes
Qualifications We Prefer
Advanced excel (pivot tables, charts, analytics) and data analytics skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with various levels in the organization and surviving family member(s). Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and professionalism
Strong organizational skills and process focused with strong attention to detail and the ability hold teams accountable. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment while managing timelines and expectations
Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross functional teams with the ability to influence and deliver results. Ability to create strong relationships with operational teams and stakeholders
Strong HR service delivery skills and Project Management experience

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
