Collins Aerospace Avionics Concepts, Practices, and Tools (CPT) organization is seeking a Systems Administrator with a passion for problem solving and satisfying customers through the delivery of improvements to the global engineering ecosystem that provide compelling gains to the consistency, efficiency, and productivity of product development efforts across the enterprise.

Responsibilities include:

  • Windows and Linux server administration: plan, execute, and upgrade/patch operating systems

  • Application administration: plan, execute, and upgrade software installations

  • Monitor software application and server performance

  • Troubleshoot issues and outages

  • Support cross-functional teams to provide timely and effective solutions while maintaining a customer service attitude

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation

The successful candidate will have experience in four or more of the following categories:

  • Linux and Windows server administration

  • Network Administration

  • Software installations and upgrades

  • Java web app administration

  • Database query and/or database administration (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL)

  • System security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery

  • Critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline or, in the absence of a degree, six years of related experience

  • 1-2 yrs experience supporting operating systems (e.g. Linux, Windows)

  • US Citizen/Permanent Resident
