Position Summary

The Financial Reporting Leader provides overall leadership to GPSG’s Client Reporting and Cash teams with responsibility for building and developing the talents and skills of the team members. Through the Cash Leader, Financial Reporting Leader helps to oversee the development of processes and procedures relating to cash management functions. This individual directly leads the development of strategy and processes used within the GPSG client reporting analysis and accounting functions. The GPSG client reporting team’s responsibilities include working with GPSG’s clients to understand their reporting needs with the goal of deepening the relationship with current clients and leveraging the knowledge with potential new clients. Additionally, the GPSG client reporting team assists with client onboarding and lead client remittance, billing, reporting and analytical support.

The candidate hired will be hired as a Financial Reporting Leader or Director of Finance, based upon qualifications, skills, and organizational needs.

Essential Functions

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives for the GPSG client reporting team including enhancements to processes and reporting for all GPSG clients.

  • Responsible for the leadership of GPSG client reporting team members including establishment of development plans, individual specific goals and team alignment strategy.

  • Ensures GPSG client reporting team members are actively providing reporting solutions exceeding client’s expectations.

  • Functional training of new hires within the client reporting team.

  • Involvement in hiring process of GPSG client reporting analyst and GPSG accountant positions, including job requisition preparation and approval, resume review, leader/team previews, debrief and offer decision discussions, involving functional or other GPSG leaders as appropriate.

  • Review of daily balancing of client collections to client payables. Review and approve client remittance reporting and processing of accounts payable requests for client payment.

  • Oversee the preparation, audit and review of monthly reporting per the client’s standard operating procedures.

  • Review client billing and reconciliation of payables and receivables based on detailed review of the client’s servicing agreement and portfolio activity.

  • Key leader and resource for researching and resolving all report discrepancies timely.

  • Maintain active relationships with GPSG clients on portfolio and financial issues. Proactively work with clients through the Client Manager to determine reporting needs and develop business relationship with client.

  • Assist clients with reporting requests via GPSG’s web-based reporting interface or ad-hoc reporting through the data warehouse. Manage the setup and training of clients on GPSG’s web-based reporting tool.

  • Develop periodic client performance metrics for leadership analysis to assist and participate in client visits or operation review meetings.

  • Support the GPSG operations team with the onboarding of new clients by leading the setup of loan, leasing or solar servicing systems, accounting system, journal entry translation, periodic remittance and client reporting.

  • Assist client reporting analysts in analyzing data in preparation for a portfolio transitions onto our servicing systems.

  • Oversee client reporting analysts as business experts of core loan, leasing and solar servicing systems, and associated accounting entries. Support Client Manager in client discussions describing how GPSG’s reporting systems are able to satisfy client’s product offering.

  • Review and approve general ledger account reconciliations. Ensure that reporting is done in accordance with clients expectations in relation to generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Assist client reporting analysts with research and application of accounting theory, as needed.

  • Review various reconciliations of GPSG third-party vendors and GPSG operations such as invoicing, ACH payments, legal land descriptions, FedEx, interpretive services and UCC filings.

  • Assist cash leader in the oversight of the cash management processes delivering timely and accurate service to customers and clients.

  • Provide an outstanding GreatAmerica experience to all clients.

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, CPA/MBA is a plus

    Experience: 5 years of finance and accounting experience in providing business advice and analyzing business performance. Financial services industry experience is a plus.

    Skills and Abilities

    Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Excel with a working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications required
