Job Title: Production Worker

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated General Production Worker to join our team in the Sheet Bay. In this role, you will be responsible for pulling and fabricating various metal materials processed for specific customer orders. You will follow work orders, read directions, and operate various machinery. We offer comprehensive training and certification for crane and forklift operations.

Responsibilities

• Follow work orders and read directions

• Pull steel stock and read tape measures accurately

• Operate cranes and forklifts (training and certification provided)

• Run a sideloader

• Operate saws and burn operators

• Lift up to 70 lbs (buddy lifting for heavier items)

• Work in a safety-first environment

Essential Skills

• 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing setting

• Proficiency with hand and power tools

• Experience in metal fabrication and assembly

• Ability to read tape measures to 1/16" or 1/8"

• Capability to perform heavy lifting and operate machinery

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Willingness to train individuals with a good attitude and attendance

• Experience using grinders, shears, press brakes, and saws

• Ability to work in a team environment

Work Environment

You will be working in a metal/steel service center with large pieces of steel and heavy machinery. The environment has good air circulation due to high ceilings but can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Safety is a top priority, with weekly safety training sessions. The team environment is supportive, although it can get loud and busy with frequent forklift movements during peak times. The current opening is for 2 first shift stock pullers, with work hours starting at 8 am and lasting for 8-10 hours depending on work completion.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
