Consultant and influence leadership on a broad range of HR matters, including performance management, talent development, goal setting, conflict resolution, total compensation, employee and labor relations, talent acquisition, learning and development, workforce development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Design and implement innovative approaches, policies, and procedures to influence continuous improvement in strategic objectives, productivity, and development within the company and human resources.
Understand the entire talent system and each stage of the employee lifecycle and moments that matter; apply that understanding to integrated solutions that are thoughtful and support our talent programs.
Optimize relationships and uses critical thinking in order to develop and implement human resource strategies that align with business unit and company goals and strategies.
Partner with recruitment to focus on acquiring and retaining top talent and building a solid pipeline for future needs.
Support overall company labor strategy by leading labor relations activities such as labor contract negotiations, grievance resolution, and arbitrations. Maintain progressive and collaborative working relationships with union officials and advises management on labor relations matters.
Leverage workforce analytics and insights to develop and implement a lifecycle approach to talent management focused on forecasting, staffing, onboarding, development, performance management, career/succession planning, talent movement and retention.
Maintain an outward look to benchmark the organization against peers' and possibly best-in-class practices related to human resource solutions.
Act as a change agent and culture advocate throughout the organization. Leads the organization away from status quo to innovative solutions that drive and shape strategy. Embrace and integrate diversity, equity and inclusion into business strategies.
Provide guidance to Human Resource Business Partners on employee relations issues; compensation and benefits administration, including job description and job family development; salary recommendations, annual merit and incentive processes; and certain benefit recommendations.
Perform all management duties including, but not limited to, budgeting, hiring, performance reviews, coordinating and scheduling work, salary recommendations, discipline, ensure employees report to work fit for duty, leadership, grievance resolution, coaching & counseling, models Alliant Energy’s Core Values at all times.
Performs work under the general supervision of a Director.
Supervises the work of professional employees engaged in human resources activities.

We have an outstanding opportunity for a Manager HR Business Partners to join our team in Madison, WI. This position supports our corporate functions in meeting strategic objectives and goals of executive leadership teams and business units. Serving as a thought leader on all talent matters in the employee life cycle this position will develop integrated solutions and formulate partnerships across human resources to deliver value-added services that reflect the business objectives of the organization. Energy, passion, and creativity are important to this role as is building strong partnerships with internal customers and partners.
This position offers a blend of working from home, and in the Madison, WI office on average 1-2 days per week. The successful candidate must reside in Wisconsin.
This position may require travel throughout the Alliant Energy service territory to meet and advise with customers. Most of this travel will consist of day trips, though on occasion overnight travel may be required.

Job Category:Human Resources Job Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources management, behavioral sciences, labor relations or related area.
10 years of experience in coaching, advising and/or building relationships with leadership.
6 years of supervisory experience or equivalent. (Equivalent supervisory experiences may include project management, providing work direction, leadership experience through temporary assignments, roles in the community or external organizations, or other demonstrated leadership experience).
Extensive experience providing strategic counsel to upper level management.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must be willing to travel. Travel can include occasional overnight stays.

Broad knowledge of multiple HR disciplines (e.g., labor relations, talent management, staffing,
benefits, compensation, talent management).
Solid knowledge of employment laws and practices.

Demonstrated ability to develop short- and long-term strategic plans and translate those plans into action.
Ability to effectively provide consultation to employees and leadership on complex HR issues.
Solid conflict management, influencing, and problem solving skills. Ability to develop trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.
Ability to understand the wider organization and its strategic objectives, as well as the environment and market in which the business operates.
Ability to work with multiple groups in multiple locations.
Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate multiple projects and work initiatives at one time.
Ability to focus on accountability and working in an environment which demands strong d eliverables along with the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate solutions.
