Raytheon Technologies Manufacturing Electrical Engineer (1st Shift) (Onsite) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

We are seeking a self-motivated engineer with strong problem-solving skills that will be used in three main areas of responsibilities: technical problem-solving , test process flow improvement , and test yield root cause analysis and improvements. This position will support the first and second (split s hift ) operations schedule inside the Cedar Rapids, IA manufacturing facility .

Our team provides a very high level of technical support in these areas while keeping a laser focus on our excellent quality. This position provides the opportunity for independent action and working in a team environment to achieve department goals while considering safety, quality, schedule, and cost to determine priorities. This role demands a “people person” that will interface well with production test personnel, other manufacturing engineers, and production management. If selected, you will become familiar with Collins Aerospace products, lean manufacturing objectives, test philosophy, and state of the art manufacturing techniques. Primary Responsibilities :

  • Provide technical assistance to test technicians.

  • Work with other Engineer s to define and resolve complex technical issues that may drive change to the product or test process.

  • Analy ze product, part, and test specifications as necessary to resolve electronic related problems .

  • Evaluate customer returns to identify potential causes of failure trends.

  • Determin e suitable replacements and test plans for part transitions.

  • Analyze test data using statistical process control tools to proactively reduce test flow inhibitors.

  • Determine optimal test flow while considering cost constraints.

  • Develop working knowledge of test systems and hardware.

  • Analyze test equipment performance and reliability to establish solutions for decreasing equipment downtime.

  • Support Lean/Six Sigma initiatives and producibility improvement projects.

  • Provide technical interpretation of product documentation.

  • Maintain control over Engineering Support costs.

  • Develop validation plans for new test equipment.

  • Review existing test plans to find improvement opportunities.

  • Assist with c apacity planning and utilization analysis for test resources.

  • Frequent use of electronics knowledge and testing equipment, industry/functional practices, techniques and standards.

  • Basic understanding and application of Engineer principles, concepts, practices and standards is expected.

  • Recognizes that individual goals contribute toward accomplishing team outcomes.

  • Displays a compassionate attitude toward the needs of others.

  • Applies fundamental service techniques and adheres to proper customer procedures when interacting with customers.

  • Uses various software packages to maintain and update documents and records.

  • Demonstrates the ability to follow through with work assignments and support management's policies and procedures.

  • Capable of providing status of work assignments at any time and can quickly produce any documentation or information that is needed.

  • Maintains a daily to-do list which helps to prioritize schedule.

  • Develops plans that are aligned with corporate policies and budget

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires the applicant to work in a restricted facility requiring U.S. Citizenship

  • Must have the ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance.

  • Oscilloscope operation

  • Problem solving skills

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required

  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Troubleshooting digital and analog electronics

  • Troubleshooting radio frequency electronics

  • Spectrum Analyzer operation

  • Power meter operation

  • Statistical Process Control

  • Cost benefit analysis
