The Business Development Manager drives sales growth in the environmental segment of our meteorology business by working as part of a team that sells and supports all growth in this key market. You'll establish professional relationships with key personnel in targeted customer accounts and strategic channel partners and work to meet goals for profitable sales volume and margin dollars.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Promotion and sale of OTT Hydromet product lines to core customers, channel partners, and new accounts within (but not limited to) the following customer verticals: Environmental Meteorology, Research and Education, & Agricultural Meteorology.
Own and manage targets for key application(s) and/or market segments by creating and executing a segment strategy that incorporates and manages activities by sales, marketing, sales operations, product management and other operational teams.
Provide technical and application support to drive business with customers through the sales team.
Participates in sales activities including: telephone contacts, trade seminars and shows, product demonstrations/evaluations, customer seminars and channel management.
Ability to develop and execute to a business plan and manage one’s own business.
Collects and reports information on all competitive activity, business opportunities, voice of customer, sales trends and results within the assigned market, providing input during monthly business review.
Uses metrics, KPIs, and forecasting to self-manage productivity.
Develops, nurtures, and understands health of customer opportunity funnel and openly works with leadership and sales operations to ensure best results.
Ability to develop creative and strategic solutions.
Report and manage all sales activities through our CRM (Salesforce).
Prepares and presents a monthly funnel review utilizing Salesforce to demonstrate the quality of the funnel, activity plans, and command of the account base.
Supports team of Sales Managers by assisting with quoting and other support functions as needed to ensure the success of the team.
Collaborate with sales support, customer support, and project management in order to ensure a quality customer experience.
Up to 50% Travel activity
Qualifications:
5+ years of direct and indirect sales experience, preferably in the Meteorology field and selling to federal/state/local government agencies, research and education sector, and agricultural meteorology.
A degree in a science related field such as Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering or similar is an asset.
This is a full-time, salaried position. Pay is dependent upon factors including experience, skill set, and geography. The pay range for this role is $95,000 - $110,000 and will be eligible for Sales Incentive pay.
