Alliant Energy is currently looking for a dynamic People Operations Consultant to join our People Operations team. This position is responsible for delivering on HR, Safety & Support Services processes, tasks and projects related to service delivery and design in order to create an exceptional employee experience.
Our ideal candidate brings prior experience working in Human Resources, Workday HCM operational experience, a working understanding of HR principles, practices, and procedures, along with exceptional customer service and organizational skills with a strong aptitude for attention to detail.
This is a hybrid position and will work remotely and report to the Cedar Rapids, IA or Madison, WI office an average of twice per week. Candidates must reside in either Iowa or Wisconsin.
What you will do
Provides employee lifecycle support by researching and responding to escalated employee and policy related questions with an employee experience mindset.
Executes operational processes and projects
Evaluates and administers workflow information for processing and escalation. Troubleshoots data/information discrepancies for various systems across the business unit, with a strong emphasis on working in our Human Capital Management system.
Identifies trends through data and process execution, and proposes operational solutions across various matters and processes (i.e., process improvements, process efficiencies, automation, etc.). Participates in the implementation of process improvements.
Executes HR, Safety and Support Services initiatives and provides documentation, tools and templates that can be utilized by the broader team.
Develops strong working knowledge of programs, policies, or processes aligned to various service areas.
Executes a variety of both transactional and routine tasks, as well as administers operational processes in support of the enterprise.
May provide assistance to support work/projects outside of the Operations team on a short-term basis.
Ensures work is aligned with federal, state, and local compliance requirements
Other related duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
- Associate Degree Preferred
Required Experience
- 3 years of related work experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft O365 tools. Strong technological aptitude desired (ability to learn new technology tools quickly).
Demonstrates curiosity to enable quick learning.
Seeks to understand patterns and connections through strong relationships.
Able to apply critical thinking to work processes and projects.
Able to review and utilize data to identify trends and make recommendations
Has excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to adjust their style for various audiences to articulate issues clearly.
Has proven ability to think and act quickly, manage multiple priorities, and tradeoffs to meet deadlines.
Is able to work in fast-paced ambiguous environments, adapt quickly to changing circumstances, processes and priorities.
