Looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to fulfill an opening as a Pr. Quality Engineer in our Avionics Supplier Quality organization, to be located in our Cedar Rapids, IA location. Candidates should possess experience in Mechanical or Electrical Products, Supplier Management, Root Cause and Corrective Action, Continual Improvement, Data Analysis, Specification Review, and Project Management including team facilitation. Candidates must have excellent communication, organizational and time management skills and an overall strong quality focus. They must be able to work within cross-functional teams to meet and improve upon established quality and delivery goals. Open to fill Remotely for the right candidate

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead Supplier performance by analyzing performance data, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives, especially Supply Chain enhancements.

  • Leading cross-functional teams in pursuit of performance improvements aligned to department and organizational goals; leadership advocate and partner.

  • Preventing/Minimizing business impact from supplied material defects; supplier quality risk mitigation.

  • Lead on-site supplier engagements, including performance reviews and Quality System audits.

  • Develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation.

  • Provide project management guidance and support to projects and processes.

  • Exercise independent judgment methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • Be an active member of different technology teams representing the Supply Chain Quality organization.

  • Leadership within supplied material performance organizational strategies, development / enhancement of Supplier Quality standard work, and Customer communications.

  • May require 10%-35% Travel on average.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience.

  • OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.

  • OR In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.

  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.

  • Strong background on Supply Chain Performance Management.

  • Leadership background.

  • Project Management and Change Management experience.

  • Strong interpersonal skills - able to influence others at all levels within an organization.

  • Strong presentation skills - able to analyze and present data to all levels of leadership.

  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

  • Supply Chain or Supplie r Quality type roles.

  • SAP or similar ERP system experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AS9100, ISO9000 or similar, Quality Management System (QMS) standards.

  • Competence in conducting root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action.

  • Experience with continuous improvement, APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, 9S, etc.

  • Expertise in manufacturing Special Processes & related industry organizations (Nadcap).
