Principal Financial Group Product Manager II in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Product Manager in Enterprise Experience Enablement, you will be instrumental in creating an inspiring product vision for the Enterprise Experience Enablement - Customer Organization Dashboard. This product supports Organizations who are customers of Principal, also known as employers and plan sponsors. We are seeking a highly motivated product professional who can develop product strategy, drive outcomes and key results, and manage the complexities of working across enterprise strategic efforts and value streams. 

Here are a few examples of the kinds of things you’ll do:

  • Develop and drive product vision, strategies, and roadmaps in the context of broader enterprise strategies and goals. 

  • Extract information from market research, vendors, stakeholders, sponsors, partners, and customer feedback to help evaluate problems and solutions 

  • Partner across the enterprise with CX leaders, Product Managers and product teams, Engineering, Enterprise & Business Architecture, and Enterprise/BU Initiative Sponsors, to deeply understand the problem space and prioritize opportunities.  

  • Manage competing priorities with consistency and transparency. 

  • Challenge the status quo, encourage innovation, be open-minded and approachable. Make small bets, use data to inform decision-making, embrace experimentation and inspire others to have a bias towards action. 

  • Lead and motivate a team of cross-functional representatives and maintain team health. 

  • Empower teams to own solutions being created versus telling them what needs to be done and how it should work.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, plus at least 10 years business or product management experience

  • 10 years of product management experience

  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills

  • Experience developing product strategy and vision, with ability to advance that vision

  • Desire and passion to work through complex problems and challenges

  • Skillset for working in cross-functional, enterprise teams

  • High communication and collaboration with engineering teams

  • Discovery and delivery experience

  • Ability to communicate, collaborate and influence across a variety of teams/stakeholders throughout the enterprise and at various levels

  • Business savvy and strong relationship management

  • Do-what-it-takes attitude with bias towards action

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range

$103000 - $162000 / year

Work Environments

This role offers the ability for in-office, hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements. You’ll work with your leader to determine which option may align best based on several factors.
