We are currently searching for a Program Support Specialist (PSS) to join our Mission Systems Value Stream Services (VSS) Department and partner with the Weapon Datalinks Value Stream Leadership (VSL) team located in Cedar Rapids, IA. The individual will be responsible for partnering with the VSL team in all activities associated with the pursuit, order, capture, and execution of existing and future programs.
Emphasis is focused on supporting the program execution teams with a variety of activities such as: hardware tracking and reporting, obsolescence management, bid and proposal support, earned value management, and all levels of coordination with the core program team. This position coordinates activities across the Collins shared services business model and requires collaborative working relationships with Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Contracts, Order Administration, Subcontracts, Quality, Finance, and Services and will require external customer interface.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Knowledge of industry practices and standards and use of professional concepts. Applies functional or technical principles, theories, and concepts.
Receives minimal instruction on day-to-day work assignments. Plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives.
Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise on issues. Represents organization as a prime contact on key issues.
Provides direction and oversight to ensure that issues of moderate scope and complexity are avoided and/or resolved.
Responsible for managing projects which are of moderate risk and complexity or a portion of a larger project.
Deadline Driven – Programs have hard deadlines and often approval meetings need accomplished prior to those deadlines.
Persistence – Dealing with hardware for a program requires the ability to be tenacious to get the answers needed to make decisions.
Detail-oriented multitasker – The successful candidate will be able to handle multiple issues that affect many Mission Systems products at the same time.
Analysis – Demonstrates the ability to provide a logical, in-depth analysis of a problem or situation.
Cooperation – Takes personal initiative to proactively serve as team motivator creating strong morale and synergy.
Coordinating – Ensures that information has been received and accurately understood by all parties.
Decisiveness – Exhibits the personal confidence necessary to make critical decisions, even amidst controversy and doubt.
Dependability – Ensures that all details of a project are accurate.
Drive – Displays energy, persistence, and a positive attitude when working on most projects.
Judgment – Bases decisions on factual information and considers alternative courses of action before reaching decisions.
Relationships – Develops relationships with others that are based on trust.
Communication - Must be able to effectively communicate with people across multiple organizations.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience OR In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Ability to obtain a U.S. DOD Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior SAP experience
Prior Earned Value Management experience and relevant applications
Prior external customer support/interface experience
