Role Overview

This position leads large team of experienced sales business development professionals or sales business development team leaders, overseeing business development activities and ensuring short to medium term objectives and goals for teams are met. Develops business development plans in support of the discipline and influences leadership on critical sales business development strategies.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in US DoD CONOPS and airborne communication systems requirements. Particularly a background in airborne V/UHF communications systems in the US Air Force and US Navy is desirable. Candidates should have a thorough understanding of the US DoD requirements, budget and procurement processes, and be comfortable interacting with DoD subject matter experts in all areas of the acquisition process. Experience with organizations such as the USN PMA-209, USAF ACC, USAF AMC, USN N5/8 staff, and USAF A5/8 is highly desired.


The successful candidate will lead a team of business development and marketing professionals in conjunction with program manager and engineering leads, to uncover, pursue and capture new business in the military airborne communication market.

Oversee the day to day activities of the team including responsibility for developing, forecasting, and capturing new opportunities and maintaining relationships with existing customers.

Develops and presents compelling strategic and business growth opportunities that may include market and competitive analysis via decision point reviews.

Continually scans environment for business and strategic growth opportunities

Leading and working cross-functional, cross-enterprise teams

Prepares and supports company profiles on competitors and potential acquisition candidates, including financial analyses.

Networks with senior internal and external personnel in area of expertise. Represents organization as a prime contact on projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters, often requiring coordination between organizations.

Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of multiple factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions, where erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would have a serious impact on the organization.

Normally receives minimal supervision on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments.

Skills: Well versed in Microsoft Office products and SaleForce CRM tool.

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 8 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.

  • US Citizenship required

  • Eligible for US DoD security clearance.

  • Minimum of 10 years experience through a combination of military, government and/or defense electronic industry positions.

  • Strong background in military communication systems, capabilities, and technologies. Professional and well-spoken presentation skills mandatory. Experience leading a fast paced, dynamic team chasing business around the globe
