Raytheon Technologies Senior Manager, Value Stream Management (Hybrid) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

This position is for an experienced professional in Program Management (Value Stream Leader) who will lead programs within the Boeing Tankers portfolio. The successful candidate will provide order capture and program execution expertise for a range of systems integration and modification programs in support of Boeing in KC-Y (Bridge Tanker) and KC-Z tanker pursuits.

In the order capture role, the successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to lead a team in the identification of discriminators and development of strategies in support of the customer’s Most Important Requirements. Leadership of a capture team will also require ability to manage the development of a schedule, WBS, SOW and other proposal artifacts. The position requires the ability to guide the establishment of the cost, schedule and technical baselines that will facilitate a winning proposal and a successful execution program. Understanding of Collins Aerospace Pursuit and Order Capture Process is desired.

The individual will provide leadership in the areas of planning, organization, and coordination of all functional departments necessary to support pursuits and programs execution. The individual must exhibit the leadership and communication skills to deliver a product that meets customer expectations. This position requires technical acuity and an understanding of equipment, production methods, development processes, and support methodologies. The individual should be comfortable in an amorphous technical environment where the customer looks to Collins Aerospace for leadership in bringing high-level visions into reality. The position requires demonstrated leadership skills with a proven track record of meeting objectives and satisfying customer requirements.

In the program execution role, the individual will be expected to ensure adherence to the program baseline and serve as the primary customer point of contact in communication of program status. The individual will maintain responsibility for schedule, performance, cost attainment, sales, and order forecasts and will present proposals, status reports, and customer status to leadership.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute business plans and strategies to grow the Boeing Tanker business as part of the Strategic Financial Plan and Annual Operating Plan

  • Lead pursuit and order capture activities, including strategy development, customer contact and influence, proposal development, and negotiation

  • Develops and leads negotiation strategies in the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes, including coordinating preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements, operational budgets, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts to ensure legal compliance and to protect the organization’s interests

  • Develops and implements new products, processes, standards, or operational plans that will have impact on the achievement of functional results

  • Responsible for Profit & Loss of assigned programs to include, development of program plans, schedules, and responsibility for meeting financial, technical, schedule and customer objectives

  • Identifies and addresses program problems and recommends resolutions to ensure the successful completion of programs

  • Coordinate with Engineering, Business Development, and fellow Program Managers to develop and leverage product line solutions and capabilities

  • Builds strong working relationships, both internally to Collins and externally

  • Lead geographically separated teams to achieve overall goals

    Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 10 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required.

  • Previous Life Cycle Value Stream (LCVSM) or Program Management experience

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.

  • Previous Life Cycle Value Stream (LCVSM) or Program Management experience

  • Demonstrated pursuit, order, capture experience

  • Demonstrated communication skills with customers, engineering, business development and senior leaders

  • Demonstrated embodiment a positive, passionate sense of urgency and instill it in teammates and co-workers that drives results

  • Demonstrated Ability to lead geographically separated teams to achieve overall goals

  • Experience working within the US military acquisition system

  • Program Management Professional Certification
