Job Title: Staff Engineer

Job Description

This position is responsible for managing routine to moderately complex projects, providing technical expertise to meet and exceed client expectations. The individual will write basic reports, offering professional opinions and recommendations utilizing standard engineering practices and techniques under the direction of a Professional Engineer. Responsibilities include managing geotechnical and materials testing, observing and reporting construction progress to Project Engineers, working with drill techs on various civil and commercial projects, preparing proposals for civil engineering projects, and developing solutions and recommendations for engineering reports.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Work Environment

The work environment consists of 50% field work, 25% lab work, and 25% office work. Dress code varies depending on the day’s activities, ranging from casual attire such as jeans and a nicer shirt to field-appropriate clothing.
