The Contract Specialist position is on the Program Subcontracts team in Supply Chain Contracts is responsible for ensuring that Collins Aerospace has properly negotiated and approved agreements for engineered items and products for use in Collins Aerospace products. This position will be responsible for working with Engineering, Program Management and Supply Chain Personnel.
Reviews incoming internal customer requests for proposals, proposal requirements terms and conditions for acceptability and compliance with company policies and procedures. Responsible for structuring and administering contractual documents that establish business relationships with suppliers. Coordinates inputs from Program Team, Procurement, Engineering, Legal, etc. to structure contracts.
Plans and leads negotiation efforts with suppliers including the development of negotiation strategies which meet business objectives;
Reviews contractual terms and conditions for their acceptability, as well as assessing the risk and impact to the proposal or procurement activity. Analyzes contracts to ensure compliance to company policies, government and commercial specifications and other requirements.
Manages contract performance from beginning to end for conformance to original proposal or contract.
Utilizes legal resources and other subject matter experts to ensure all levels of risk are recognized and subsequently addressed through development of unique contract terms and conditions;
Briefs program team, Senior Management and other functional areas on contract status, risk mitigation and contingency plans based on developed recommendations.
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
Preferred (Desired) Experience:
Supply Chain contracting
Juris Doctorate degree
