Responsibilities

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for the clerical and reception duties of the nursing unit. Interacts with patients, visitors, and staff of all ages. Presents a ready smile and pleasant demeanor in all interactions.

  2. Answers the telephone and call lights as soon as possible. Always pleasant and cordial in interactions with staff, visitors and patients.

  3. Daily refrigerator temperature and supply checks and orders.

  4. Schedules follow up appointments for patients with provider offices.

  5. Faxes essential records to providers.

  6. Scan’s EKGs into the electronic medical record

  7. An advocate for patients and their families

  8. Orders unit’s supplies.

  9. Updates daily assignment board, census sheet, Ascom phone assignments and Cerner patient lists for staff each shift.

  10. Orders forms for station and file cabinets. Works with safety as a first priority.

Other duties as assigned by management. Is a team player and assists staff as needed/requested.
