General Description and Essential Functions

The P&C Business Partner performs Human Resources related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: culture, organizational development, selection and recruitment, new hire process, policy administration, training, employee relations. This position will provide support to a specified group and or function of the bank, and support People and Culture efforts company-wide.

  • Act as a resource and advisor for management throughout the Bank on a variety of matters including culture, employee relations, policy interpretation, organizational development and compensation.

  • Provide in-depth consultations regarding approved organization wide employee relations policies and practices and obtain factual information concerning employee/management inquiries or complaints.

  • Make recommendations to management regarding resolution of investigations, in accordance with Great Western Bank policies and applicable laws and regulations

  • Develop, direct and implement recruiting strategies to attract quality candidates to meet the growth needs of Great Western Bank. This includes usage of networking, employee referrals, and internet sourcing.

  • Advise, counsel and provide recommendations to business partners regarding performance management strategies, coaching, counseling, career development and disciplinary actions.

  • Support the performance and talent management process and initiatives related to talent and diversity.

  • Research and write various human resources-related policies, procedures and other related documentation or materials.

  • Facilitate management classes on HR topics and corporate programs. May design, develop and implement learning tools/resources for talent and leadership development programs

  • Handle inquiries, issues and complaints to ensure appropriate resolutions in accordance with GWB policies and applicable laws and regulations.

Provide regular reporting as requested for support area and corporate required reporting.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, business administration or related field preferred.

  • 5+ years of professional level Human Resources experience.

  • General experience or knowledge on a broad range of human resource disciplines.

  • Must have ability to build strong relationships with across the organization.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.

Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is consistent with applicable standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations and/or government law.
