The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of a natural gas aquafer gas storage facility, along with all associated compression, processing and pipeline facilities assigned to District 204, Columbus Junction, Iowa. The Supervisor’s reporting location will be Compressor Station 204, Columbus Junction, Iowa.
The facilities in District 204 include:
A remote mainline compressor station consisting of a single 15,000 HP electric motor, and a 12,500 HP gas turbine.
An aquifer storage facility consisting of 151 I/W wells and 61observation wells. The associated compressor station consists of 7, 4-cycle and 2-cycle compressor engines totaling 19,885 HP, along with all associated glycol based gas dehydration systems, H2S remediation systems, and produced water disposal systems.
A remote storage compressor station consisting of a single 4-cycle compressor engine of 3550 HP.
Provide leadership and oversee the planning and direction of all activities within the District.
Manage all PHMSA and regulatory requirements and be prepared to represent the Company during any inspections or audits for the area of responsibility.
Participate in the development of O&M procedures, site specific procedure, project scopes and work plans.
Monitor and implement company procedures, standards and best practices.
Responsible for safety program, environmental compliance, governmental compliance, employee training and development, facility security and personnel functions.
Ensure that all requirements of the Operator Qualification Program are met for both contract and company employees.
Identify report and correct safety and environmental concerns.
Manage, plan and forecast the Capital and O&M Budgets for area of responsibility.
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of equipment, instrumentation, pumps, vessels, pipelines, compressors, auxiliary equipment, engines, turbines, motors, cooling equipment, valves, seals and other related equipment.
Oversee construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third-parties.
Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism.
Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and high level of performance.
Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees and the general public.
Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, regulatory and Company tariff requirements.

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Minimum five to seven (5-7) years working experience with mechanical and pipeline systems.
Employee supervisory and asset management skills.
Knowledge and experience in operation of pipeline, measurement, pressure regulation and compressor station operations.
Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids and high and low pressure systems.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS:
Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Good computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, various operating systems and other company software).
Good math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage crews at multiple locations and multiple tasks on a daily basis.
Solid communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead towards operational excellence.
Strong customer focus in dealing with engineering, field operations and other internal and external groups.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILL & ABILITIES (above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position):
Degree in a technical field, additional technical education/training is a plus.
Experience with developing and managing expense and capital budgets.
Experience specific to supervising crews with pipeline, compressor station and measurement station responsibilities high desirable.
Knowledge of natural gas engineering and operating procedures is helpful.
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, P&IDs and other diagrams useful.
Knowledge of company policies, procedures and practices and regulatory and tariff requirement.
Knowledge of DOT Part 192 is a plus.
Must be able to withstand extreme conditions; will work outside in all environmental conditions, platforms, ladders and walkways.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions and 50 pounds from floor to waist.
Required to carry a company-provided cell phone and be available to respond during working hours and non-working hours as needed.
Travel is sometimes required which could occasionally include out-of-town nights and weekend travel.
The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
This is a supervisory position.
