Description

We currently have a vacancy for a full-time Senior Accountant with drive and experience at a growing Renewable Energy company in the Council Bluffs, Iowa area. As a Senior Accountant, your duties will include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist with maintaining the internal accounting practices in alignment with company, federal, state, local and GAAP policies and practices.

  • Assist with the monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes.

  • Assist in helping prepare the required reporting to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

  • Support the day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, treasury, general ledger, and other applicable analysis

  • Prepare daily cash report and supporting tabs for management.

  • Maintain competence or excellence in the software used in the accounting department.

  • Assist with the analysis of operating data, key performance results and other figures.

  • Coordinate AR collections with general accounting and grain accounting. Prepare weekly outstanding AR by customer report for distribution with updates noted.

  • Assist in assuring processes adhere to accounting procedures, internal controls, data base management and Chart of Accounts.

  • Ensure company-wide compliance with procedures as audited for Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) audit compliance.

  • Assist in assuring compliance with current legislation, accounting principals and prompt implementation of necessary changes. .

    Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or Business Administration

  • Minimum 3-5+ years related work experience in progressive Accounting. Experience at a Senior level and above highly sought.

  • CPA or CMA certificate recommended

  • Ability to work well with others and ability to work independently

  • Exemplify the high standards necessary to accomplish the goals of the Company

  • Leadership competencies

  • Strong computer skills especially Microsoft Excel
