Lee Enterprises Director of Digital Subscriptions in Davenport, Iowa
Lee Enterprises is seeking a professional Director of Digital Subscriptions to grow direct to consumer revenue and reader/member engagement across the portfolio of Lee’s digital platforms and services.
By coaching a cross-functional digital marketing team and relentlessly optimizing campaigns across multiple paid and free sales channels, the Director of Digital Subscriptions is laser-focused on growing digital subscriptions and memberships. This position will own KPIs and lines of business that are crucial to increasing digital consumer revenue in over 70 brands across 26 states.
Develop and execute strategic plans to grow digital subscription revenue through all aspects of marketing, technology and design.
Proactively identify and collaborate with IT and digital development teams to continuously improve digital user experience across all platforms to drive digital subscription growth.
Oversee planning of detailed marketing campaigns for all sales channels, including but not limited to email, on-site, newsletter, niche publications, targeted advertising, social and paid search.
Grow and scale sales channels profitably by analyzing ROI, COCA and LTV.
Lead and establish workflows to act on key segments, constantly testing creative and copy across campaigns in all sales channels, with mobile in mind.
Drive analysis and reporting of analytics to develop new tools/tactics and/or expand existing platforms for customer acquisition.
Constantly optimize campaign performance to improve KPIs including open rates, click rates and subscription conversions.
Collaborate with Retention Director to drive improvement of retention of full access and digital members through journey mapping, targeted campaigns, customer surveys and deep analysis of pricing, offers and messaging.
Coordinate with leadership in consumer marketing, individual markets and other corporate departments to improve the organization through digital solutions.
Identify and explore emerging trends and sales opportunities through participation in industry conferences as well as outreach to industry-leading technology partners.
Supervise and mentor the digital subscriptions team.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Undergraduate degree in related field required.
Minimum of five years of experience in online media marketing with a detailed understanding of digital audience/subscription-based business models and strategy.
Ability to motivate others along with a minimum of five years of management experience.
Solid understanding of web analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
Detailed knowledge of social and mobile channels along with associated analytical tools.
Rich understanding of audience development channels, including newsletters, social and SEO.
Ability to optimize marketing and user experience strategies through the use of multivariate testing tools.
Demonstrated ability to make quick data-driven decisions.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, both written and orally.
Entrepreneurial spirit with strong analytical capabilities.
This can be a remote, work-from-home, position. Preferably within one of our markets.
