Thepurposeofthispositionistoleadtheimplementationof energyandsustainability initiativesfora large healthcare client with 25+ hospitals and a total portfolio of 300+ properties in Texas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Utility Cost Management
Establish / monitor utilities budgets. Provide commentary for budget variances and exceptions.
Oversee utility bill payment and data management processes.
Provide forecasts of utility expenses throughout the portfolio.
Coordinate energy procurement and renewable energy purchasing activities as needed.
Manage energy benchmarking in Energy Star and other healthcare benchmarks
Analyze energy and water consumption metrics to identify opportunities and create plans to sustain energy savings
Develop and presents monthly energy reports on energy use, water use, waste diversion rates and spending trends.
Understand and calculate building energy consumption profiles.
Energy and Water Efficiency
Develop energy management & sustainability strategy for clients' real estate portfolios Ensures that global energy and sustainability standards are applied throughout the managed properties.
Lead identification and prioritization of energy capital projects, operational changes and physical plant upgrades, resulting in reduced energy consumption (may include HVAC, lighting, building envelope, demand response and controls, plug loads, distributed generation, employee engagement, and evaluating new technologies and services).
Engage FM team and the global energy and sustainability team to identify and develop energy projects. Responsible for formalizing scope, obtaining quotes, evaluating financial viability, performing project savings analysis, budgeting and obtaining project approval.
Collaborate with the global CBRE platform on the implementation and management of energy and sustainability projects in a timely and accurate fashion.
Implement programs in a timely manner to achieve targeted savings goals.
Report clear and concise metrics on various energy and sustainability activities (cost savings, CO2, water, etc.), and achievements monthly or as requested by client.
Provide energy and sustainability related inputs to preventative maintenance and engineering teams.
Communicate plans and progress to all levels of staff through presentations and meetings.
Support water saving programs and recycling programs as requested.
Support new business pursuits and business development through relationship building and building walkthroughs
Other Responsibilities and Skills Needed for Success
Has a detailed knowledge of energy consuming building systems, energy and water efficiency in hospitals and healthcare environments, healthcare compliance, industry standards for measurement & verification of energy savings.
Strong people and communication skills required. The candidate should be able to work with the client, FM leadership and facility operations team members to communicate value, progress and to mentor as needed.
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, online software platforms, with the ability to use spreadsheets and data analysis applications
Ability to multi-task and effectively organize responsibilities. Strong project management and leadership skills.
Advanced, in-depth knowledge of sustainability and energy principles and concepts, particularly related to the built environment.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BS) from four-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Minimum of four-six years related experience.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
Professional Engineer (PE), BPI Multifamily Building Analyst (MFBA), AEE Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.
Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Experience developing energy modeling calculation spreadsheets.
Proficient with one or more energy modeling softwares.
Experience conducting energy audits of multifamily buildings.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers.
Ability to effectively present information.
Proficiency in Microsoft software, including Excel.
Responsible for completing assigned projects according to project schedule.
Requires knowledge of economic terms and principles.
Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as simple payback, savings to investment ratio,
Conducts basic economic analysis.
