Job Summary:

Trane Iowa is hiring a General Sales Manager based in our Davenport, IA Commercial Sales Office to cover Eastern Iowa and NW Illinois. This role will lead sales teams in the Quad Cities (Davenport) and Cedar Rapids, IA markets. In this role, you will function as sales leader for New Systems, Services, and Contracting revenue streams across the eastern geography of Iowa and northwest counties of Illinois. Markets include Quad Cities (Davenport), Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Waterloo, Dubuque, Quincy, and Keokuk.

You will be responsible for developing customer relationships, maximizing account penetration, earning a greater share of customer, and creating long-term customer loyalty with consulting engineers, contractors, and building owner accounts. This Sales leader role covets of all the responsibilities, processes, and functions required for building strategic and collaborative sales teams, meeting sales goals, and delivering business results.

This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule and will be based out of our Davenport location. Flexible work from home options are available.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the following sales and market functions: customer and area sales management, new customer acquisition, customer satisfaction, price management, marketing and business development activities, account penetration, market penetration, customer loyalty, hiring and on-boarding of new sales associates, continued assessment, training, and development of account managers, setting quotas, sales forecasting, and use of Trane sales tools and systems.

  • Responsible for achieving annual objectives regarding bookings, revenue, margin, profit, acquisition expense, market share, and business mix for all streams.

  • Assemble strategic, collaborative sales teams, manage for sustained high-performance, mentor account managers with differing skills and experience, coach and develop sales excellence principles.

  • Manage team and individual pipeline, Salesforce utilization, sales process and sales cycle leadership, and area product portfolios.

  • Responsible for sales office compliance with company policies, procedures, LOA, and operational ethics and integrity.

  • Support workforce uplift strategies such as employee engagement, recruitment and retention, and diversity and inclusion.

  • Perform various general management responsibilities for the Davenport and Cedar Rapids commercial sales offices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, business or equivalent from a four-year college or university preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum five (5) years of related experience in sales leadership role.

  • Trane sales or HVAC industry sales, or related sales experience is preferred.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to:

  • DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.

Total Compensation Range: $175,000 - $250,000 /year

Total compensation for this role will include an incentive plan
