Material Coordinator- Davenport, IA

Kelly Services is currently recruiting for a full-time Material Coordinator position for our client, one of the world’s leading equipment and manufacturing companies, at its location in Davenport, IA

Pay rate: $17.43/hour

Schedule: This is a full-time, 1st shift position. Position will average 50 hours a week. Some Saturdays may be required.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Working within the Operations and Supply Management teams as a functional team member and service provider

  • Oversee production material availability, ensuring that direct material is scheduled and available on time to the work center

  • Work primarily in SAP MRP system and will be responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and controlling inventory

  • Identify problems and makes suggestions involving production schedules

  • May supervise or provide work direction to hourly material handlers, stock chasers or truckers

  • Find and corrects root cause of material shortages

  • Resolve inventory errors and expedite parts to ensure uninterrupted production


  • Ability to work off-shift hours and overtime as needed

  • Must wear metatarsal boots

  • Bachelor’s degree or 10-15 years of Supply Management/Operations experience

  • Motivation for improvement and urgency to support

  • Ability to engage with others in a positive way

  • Strong computer skills in MS Office Suite, SAP or equivalent, MRP systems

  • Good understanding of manufacturing demands, supply and logistics flow with a customer service mindset

Term of Assignment:

  • October 28th, 2019 to October 31st, 2020 with a possibility of an extension depending on performance and needs of the client
