Robert Half Staff Accountant in DAVENPORT, Iowa
Description Robert Half currently has a permanent opportunity for an experienced Staff Accountant to join their growing team in the Professional Services industry. As Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, various aspects of internal reporting will be under your responsibility. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very complex as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Davenport, Iowa area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.
Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting
Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll Requirements - Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Microsoft Excel experience required
Foundational knowledge in Accounting Principles
Deep understanding of Accounting Entries
Full Cycle Accounting experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Efficient in ERP systems
