Eaton Corporation Supplier Quality Specialist in Davenport, Iowa

Eaton’s Mission Systems division is currently seeking a Supplier Quality Specialist. This position is located in the growing Quad Cities, specifically in Davenport, IA. The expected annual salary range for this role is $65250.0 - $95700.0 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

The Davenport facility has 750+ (340+ bargaining unit and 400+ salaried employees) and is leader in in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of aerospace mission systems components, systems and services to the US defense and commercial global aftermarket and OEM markets. What you’ll do:

Responsible for the deployment of supplier development and improvement processes across supply chain to achieve improvement in both quality and delivery performance and enhance supplier capabilities to meet future business needs.

• Interface with engineering disciplines and with customers and suppliers on quality related issues.

• Drive for continuous improvement between EATON and our Suppliers.

• Design or specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment.

• Perform necessary tests with equipment and effectively document test results.

• Formulate or assist in the preparation, review, and approval (if applicable) of quality documents such as plans, policies, procedures, and reports.

• Participate in and/or perform various audits along with compiling corresponding reports when required.

• Manage customer, supplier, and internal communications in a timely and professional manner, ensuring they are handled as required.

• Provide support relative to the collection and analysis of quality data.

• Document and report concerns via internal tracking methods including but not limited to nonconformance records.

• Ensure both customer and regulatory requirements are met.

• Support the adherence of business management system (BMS) processes by all functions.

• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, customer quality requirements, and company quality requirements to ensure compliance with the customer’s expectations.

• Perform Root Cause Corrective Action utilizing disciplined methodologies such as 8D to ensure effectiveness.

• Witness and audit the building and testing of product as needed at supplier sites.

• Perform risk analyses and implement associated mitigations.

• Assemble and verify customer PPAP submissions for acceptance as needed.

• Review all customer/program deliverables/activities and verify for their completeness.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and minimum of 3 years Quality experience working in manufacturing environment OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years of Quality experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Minimum of 1 year working with metrology, gages, and measurement techniques.

• Minimum of 2 years working directly with Customers or Suppliers on Quality related issues

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future

• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 70 miles of the Davenport, IA facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science Field (i.e., Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering)

• 2+ years’ experience with AS9100/ISO9001, MIL-STD, ISO13485, or IATF 16949

• 2+ years’ experience with AS9145, AS9142, and AS9102

• 2+ years’ with Quality Management System (QMS) Auditing

• 2+ years’ experience with Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis Tools, Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Lifecycle Management (LCM) experience.

• 1+ years’ experience in reading and interpreting technical documents, including prints (GD&T), drawings, and engineering orders.

• Military aviation or aircraft modification experience

• ASQ (American Society for Quality) Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor or Certified Reliability Engineer

• Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) experience is highly desired, including associated tools such as characteristics matrices, process flow diagrams, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEAs), Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)

• Project/Program Management experience

• Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) experience.
