You will work with a wide range of clients across the firm to provide valuable Accounting Period and Methods insight and advisory plans, contributing to the growth of top-line revenue. One of your most important roles will be to help mentor junior colleagues and build a strong team.
The Tax Senior Manager/Manager will focus on providing compliance and consulting in the areas of Accounting Periods and Methods. As a valued member of our National Tax Group , you will work with an excellent team of CPAs and tax law experts. This position will be responsible for developing a tight-knit group offering unparalleled knowledge and service to help clients identify and realize value-added opportunities with respect to Revenue Recognition, Costs Incurred and Inventory Accounting Method matters.
Responsibilities will include:
Conducting accounting method optimization assessments to identify, design and implement strategies related to:
The Timing of revenue and expense recognition.
Overall Inventory valuation optimization.
IRC section 263A – UNICAP implementation, methodology assessment, and optimization.
Capitalization compliance assessment and optimization implementation.
Ensuring that clients are utilizing correct accounting methods and developing strategies intended to assist them with changing to permissible methods as appropriate.
Preparing and reviewing Forms 3115
Working directly with internal personnel, clients, and prospective client to obtain the necessary information to conduct analyses.
Drafting IRS inquiries and responses, drafting opinion and tax technical memoranda, and conducting tax research on complex tax accounting matters.
Interpreting legislative, judicial, and administrative changes for internal and external stakeholders in clear and, concise communications.
Developing thought leadership communications, participating in podcasts, conducting training sessions, in-person and remotely, and representing the firm, service-line, and its offering as a public face of the practice.
What you bring to the role:
Proven knowledge and experience in Accounting Methods and Periods Analysis, planning and compliance.
A minimum of 8 years of experience working in federal tax compliance and tax consulting services, specifically with respect to accounting methods involving Cash to Accrual, Inventory, Pre-paid and other matters focusing on the pursuit of cash flow savings for short and long-term tax deferrals.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, engineering, technology, or related field. A CPA or JD is required. An MST, MAcc, or LLM is a plus.

The salary range for this position is $80,000-$197,400. Individual salaries within this range are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geographic location.
