This position is part of the Solution Engineering Organization supporting the Loan Production and Delivery (LP&D). In this position as an Application Systems Engineer 5, you will act as a lead in providing application design guidance and consultation to help with the Resiliency, Innovation, Componentization of CORE, Cloud migration, Micro services and Developing Frameworks. You will be responsible for supporting Horizontal components for ORAP, CORE, iTaLL and other Home Lending platforms within Consumer Lending.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Understand the business needs and cutting edge technologies to build the services that aligns with the Wells Fargo vision and values.

  • Providing Java/J2EE and/or UI coding guidance and set standards for the development community.

  • Design/ Develop & Improve Framework to support Migration of our Application to Tomcat.

  • Design/ Develop a Resiliency Automation Platform to address the needs of existing Applications in Wells Fargo.

  • Build/ Develop and Automate secure coding methodologies/ practices.

  • Develop adapter services to support Componentization of our current HomeLending platform into Microservices.

  • Design/ Develop and Migrate some of our existing applications to Cloud platform.

  • Develop and support the Framework and patterns for the new micro services and converting the monolithic application into micro services.

  • Analyzing highly complex business requirements designs and writes technical specifications to design or redesign complex computer platforms and applications.

  • Leading projects, allocating and managing the team’s resources and the work of less experienced staff.

  • Assuring quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area, as well as, overseeing creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation plan.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of application development and implementation experience

  • 5+ years of Java experience

  • 3+ years of Spring framework experience such as Spring Boot

  • 3+ years of Tomcat development or implementation experience

  • 2+ years of experience in microservices development

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology

Desired Qualifications:

  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • 3+ years of Hibernate experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of Cloud computing, PaaS design principles and micro services and containers

  • 3+ years of Middleware experience

  • Experience with RESTful API calls

  • Good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills

  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment

  • Knowledge and understanding of home lending or consumer lending

  • Financial services industry experience

  • Ability to work additional hours as needed

  • Flexibility to work in a 24/7 environment
